Cellphone Number Lookup – Free Vs Paid, My Journal

I was sitting in my desk when I thought about doing cellphone number lookup to a number given to me, before doing anything, I decided to find out about option available to do cell phone reverse search. I open a search engines in my browser, type in “cellphone number lookup” with quotes , click enter and wait for returned results and there was thousands search results. I decide to open the top 10 results of every search engine and compile data from the results.

From that results I came to two conclusions

1. There are two types of cellphone number lookup and that is the offline reverse cell phone numbers and the online reverse cell.

2. There are two types of online reverse cell and that is Free cellular phone number search and Paid reverse cellular phone number lookup.

Because it’s more convenient, I picked the Online option, not the Offline one. I just prefer to do cellphone number lookup from the comfort of my home without having to deal with people; it’s just easier that way. The first one turns out to be a download page to a software product and the second one is an article page. Skimming through the second page and found nothing useful. I concluded that it’s just a wild goose chase and drop the search.

The second option is to find a high quality Paid reverse cellular phone number lookup on the internet. I did the same thing as the steps for the cellular phone number search, plus looking at forums trying to find out which service is the best for my specific situation. Found it. It was not too hard to find as the advertisement for these services are just all over the internet. As I clicked one of the banners I was brought to this page. It’s just a plain box with a search button, how simple can you get? Anyway I haven’t decided to do it now so I note down the website address and try to find out more from FAQ and other parts of the website to find out more about their service. It turns out that they can give you so much information besides a name and an address such as line type – landline or mobile, household members, phone company and carrier, possible neighbors and relatives, issuing location with map, other phone numbers belonging to owner, previous addresses / residences. I am impressed and I know which one to choose now.

Conclusion, according to my research, an Online Paid cellphone number lookup looks to be more impressive and provide more information compared to the Free ones. But then again it’s a service you have to pay for. It’s up to you to decide.

Reverse Search Phone Numbers – Is That Even Legal?

One of the most common questions I’ve been asked by a lot of people about doing reverse search phone numbers is “Is it legal”. I always get similar responses such as “Don’t do that just ask nicely and you’ll get your answer”, “I thought a friend of my friend told me that it’s illegal”, “You might get in jail if you do that” or something along that lines.

Reverse Search Phone Numbers – A Manual Approach

It never crossed my mind that in my life I would have to do reverse search phone numbers but due to a special circumstance I was forced to do it to help a family member. When I was looking for a way to do it, I did a lot of research in the internet and I noticed something interesting. Read on…

Actually, reverse search phone numbers can be done by looking closer at the phone number itself. Ok, let’s take a closer look into this example. Now, you have a telephone number 123-456-7890, that’s a common phone number format defined by NANPA (North American Numbering Plan Administration) and it is called NANP (North American Numbering Plan). NANP actually is being used in 19 countries in North America including United States. When you see a phone number in that particular format then you should know that is an NANP.

Way back, when NANPA issued the phone numbers, they need to come up with a certain rule and structure to make sense of the phone numbers issued. See illustration below

Part A (e.g. 123), the first three digits is area code. Part B (e.g. 456), the second three digit is office code or cellular phone code. Part C (e.g. 789), the last 4 digits is individual number. By looking at the facts here at least you can narrow down your search using 2 things:

1. Part A will give you good idea about from what area that call is coming from

2. Part B will give you some ideas about from which carrier or cellular provider the call is being made

The only thing we cannot be sure about is Part C, so this way, we can do a very fast general reverse search phone numbers just by looking at the phone numbers. Of course, it’s a very manual and general way to do reverse telephone lookup, you can’t get any specifics about the person calling you, but there are always other free and paid alternatives, such as free reverse directory phone number and reverse phone number lookup directory, available today.
